Description:

MERIL is a community-based, non-residential program, designed to promote independent living and to enhance the quality of life for persons with disabilities and for people who are aging by empowering them to control and direct their lives and thus participate actively and independently in society. The organization does this by providing five core services: advocacy, peer support, information and referral, independent living skills training, and transition (nursing home and youth) services. Additional services include: centers for independent living, case/care management, specialized telecommunications equipment, and personal care.
