Description
Ability KC provides CARF Accredited Amputee Specialty Services for children, adolescents and adults who have experienced upper or lower extremity amputation. Ability KC therapy teams are experienced in providing care to individuals who have had an amputation as a result of trauma, vascular disease, cancer, sepsis, and more. In addition, Ability KC therapists are experienced in prosthetic training including complex and advanced prosthetic devices for upper and lower amputations.

Description
The Ability KC Adaptive Computer Communication Technology (ACCT) program uniquely targets two elements of assistive technology- the equipment that empower individuals to express their voice, and increased computer access to help individuals engage more fully in all aspects of life. Touching nearly every other program provided by Ability KC, the ACCT program ensures individuals with disabilities have the tools and resources they need to participate to their greatest ability with better computer access and communication technology. By understanding the unique needs of each individual served, the Ability KC ACCT program provides them with the communication tools or computer software they need to reach their greatest level of independence and success.

Description
Ability KC offers highly specialized services for children and adults with mild to severe brain injuries with ranging levels of physical, cognitive and behavioral challenges. In addition, Ability KC's Brain Injury specialty program is CARF accredited and employs several staff that are Certified Brain Injury Specialists.

Description
The Ability KC driving program offers both driver's evaluation and training on site for individuals with stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, physical limitations and first time drivers with a diagnosis such as autism or cerebral palsy.

Ability KC's expert Spinal Cord Injury team has experience providing care to children and adults with complex needs as related to complete and incomplete spinal cord injuries at various levels. Whether an individual is newly injured or returning to Ability KC years after a spinal cord injury our specialty Spinal Cord Injury team is here to assist with bowel and bladder management, spasticity management, strength, endurance and much more to propel individuals to their greatest level of independence.
