Description

Missouri birth records are maintained by and copies are issued by the Department of Health and Senior Services Bureau of Vital Records. Birth records reported from January 1, 1910 to the present, as well as some delayed filings from births prior to 1910, are available.

Photo ID, or two alternate forms of identification may be accepted if an applicant does not have photo identification: Must include the applicant's name and the name of the organization the document came from, such as a pay stub or utility bill.

Eligibility

In the State of Missouri, vital records are not open to the general public. Vital records certificates are issued only to the person named on the certificate or that person's parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, children, or legal guardian. The local registrar is responsible for determining requests on a case-by-case basis.

Fees

$15 per certified copy. Only check or money order is accepted.
