Community Assistance serves women and families who income qualify with clothing and housewares.

Hours

MWTh 1pm-3pm

Required Documents

Proof of all household income (can be a food stamp card), photo ID, SS card, birth certificate, medicaid card or something bearing the birth date of all dependents living in the home

Eligibility

130% of poverty; women, custodial fathers, legal guardian or legally married couple. Single men without legal dependents in the home are not served. Single women, women with legal dependents under the age of 18 living in the household year round, legally married couples with or without children, and fathers with legal dependents living in the household year round, and other relationships as determined by legal custody of children (foster care, grandparents, etc.). They are not able to serve single men.

      Description

      Community Assistance will provide women, families, or legally married couples with a furniture voucher to move into a new home after homelessness.

      Required Documents

      Homeless Letter showing a overnight shelter stay within the previous 6 months (letter on shelter letterhead) AND new signed lease agreement signed by the landlord, proof of all household income (can be food stamps), photo ID, SS card and either a birth certificate or Medicaid card for all legal dependents (or a document bearing the birth date of the dependent). A letter from the Red Cross stating need is also acceptable.

      Eligibility

      130% of poverty; Homeless Letter or Red Cross Letter; women, custodial fathers, legal guardian or legally married couple. They are not able to serve single men.
