Intake Procedure
Salting begins as soon as possible after storm begins and continues until snow routes are treated. Calcium chloride is applied when the pavement temperature falls below 20 degrees. Street plowing begins when snow is three inches or more deep or heavy slush develops. In the event of heavy, continuing snowfall, plowing will be restricted to established emergency snow routes.
