Description
YouthBuild assists disadvantaged youths to advance educational levels, obtain skills training in the construction field, develop leadership abilities and advance toward high growth, high-demand occupations. Participants build affordable housing in impoverished neighborhoods and improve public infrastructure. Individuals who qualify for services from Missouri Division of Vocational Rehabilitation or Rehabilitation Services for the Blind, Department of Mental Health Division of Development Disabilities - Individuals who are economically disadvantaged, chronically unemployed and youth at risk. - Youthbuild participants must be 16 to 24 years of age at enrollment AND a high school dropout AND one of the following: low-income, current or former foster youth, youth or adult offender, youth with a disability, child of an incarcerated parent, OR migrant youth OR a high school graduate/equivalent recipient with low basic skills.
