Salvation Army - Supportive Services for Veteran Families - KS

Description

The SSVF aims to help veterans who are currently homeless or about to be homeless obtain and maintain affordable housing. We are a Housing First crisis response program who assist Veterans and their families with obtaining permanent housing or assist them with maintaining their current housing. The program will provide intensive case management, housing counseling, links to VA benefits, job preparation, budgeting, credit repair and life skills training. The program helps with landlord/tenant mediation.

M-F 8am-4:30pm

Required Documents

Photo ID, SS cards/birth certificate, verification of military status (DD 214), income and housing verification

Eligibility

Individual/head of household or his or her spouse must be a US veteran who served in active military, naval or air service and discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable. Individual/family must fall below 50% of AMI for their location; must be currently literally homeless or at imminent risk of being homeless.

Intake Procedure

Please call to establish pre-screening eligibility. Then an in person meeting is scheduled to complete paperwork and document eligibility.
