Description
SERVICE DESCRIPTION Respite/ Temporary Residential Services provides planned relief to the customary caregiver. St. Francois County Board has a respite center that is capable of caring for up to two consumers for several weeks.

Description
This program is called "Targeted Case Management" and is the gateway service for the Department of Mental Health/Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, funding and support. Targeted Case Management staff assist consumers in understanding their options and in assessing the Department of Mental Health's supports.

Description
On-site day rehabilitation is a one to six staffed program focused on skill building. This program assists developmentally disabled consumers in developing skills in the areas of independent living and social interaction.

This program is called "Community Integration". It is designed to assist consumers with developmental disabilities to access their community while fostering the acquisition of skills, greater independence, and personal choice. These services are offered in groups to allow the teaching of social skills in the real world with peers. It is also offered in on-on-one settings.

St. Francois County Board offers several yearly organized Special Olympic events as well as supported community recreational events. Special Olympics sports include bowling and basketball. Community events vary and are ongoing throughout the year to foster peer interaction.
