Description:

Life Skills program that is based on the 40 Developmental Assets. There are 16 classes focused on life skills and fun activities. The life skills areas of focus are finance, hygiene, social skills, work, education, home management, cooking and team building. While the fun activities range from crafts, physical activities and games.

New members attend parenting classes on pregnancy, labor and delivery and raising young children. Upon class completion, parents are eligible for program incentives. Ways to earn incentive credits include attending monthly meetings; setting and achieving parenting, personal, educational and employment goals; and spending time with a mentor. Parents are matched with a mentor of the same gender based on personal preferences. Employment services help parents prepare for, find, and be successful at work. Mentors provide positive role modeling, friendship and guidance around parenting, educational and employment issues. The objectives of MMP include the continuation of educations and the enhancement of employment opportunities through mentoring. Offers monthly group meetings.
