ABOUT 211

Dedicated staff at United Way of Greater Kansas City (UWGKC) 211 maintain a comprehensive database of thousands of local and national community resources. This database contains organizations from 7 counties in Kansas, all of Missouri, and 11 counties in Illinois. You can find information on services for food, clothing, and shelter, as well as for more complex needs like health care, mental health, education, and employment. Our team completes an annual (and often more frequent) update with each organization to ensure we have the most up-to-date information available. Contacting 211 is free and confidential. Language interpretation is available. Contact us! Organizations have to meet UWGKC 211's Inclusion/ Exclusion Criteria in order to be listed in our resource database. This criteria is required, as we are accredited by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (since 2011). Another requirement is that we capture and report on information on community needs. You can find examples of reports that 211 produces on our Reports & Data page. UWGKC 211 also collaborates with 211 Missouri out of United Way of Greater St. Louis to produce a 211 reporting dashboard at http://211mo.211counts.org.
