Description
The Illinois Homeowner Assistance Fund (ILHAF): Federally funded program dedicated to assisting Illinois homeowners who are at risk of default, foreclosure, or displacement as a result of financial hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible ILHAF program applications may apply for up to $60,000 of assistance to eliminate or reduce past-due mortgage and property tax payments.

Eligibility
Must meet all of the following eligibility requirements to participate in the program: - Own a property in Illinois used as your primary residence. - The property must be a 1-4 unit building, condo, townhouse, manufactured or mobile home. - Applicants must have a mortgage on the property that is delinquent at least 30 days. - For applicants without a mortgage, you can still apply for property tax assistance if your taxes are past due. - Household income must be below 150% of your county area median income, can be viewed here: https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/il/il2021/select_Geography_haf.odn. - Have experienced a COVID-19 related hardship, meaning a decrease of income or increase in costs, that began, continued or worsened during the pandemic.

Court Based Rental Assistance Program/CBRAP provides funding to Illinois tenants and Housing Providers who have pending cases in eviction court. Applicants may qualify for up to $15,000 in rental assistance for past due rent and 2 months of future rent payments.

-You are in a court eviction proceeding due to nonpayment. -You have experienced financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. -Proof of citizenship is not required. Rental assistance is not a âpublic chargeâ benefit. -Your household income is at or below 80% of the area median income, adjusted for household size.
