This department is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and their communities by providing necessary sustainable resources. Services include Homelessness Prevention Programs, Emergency Shelter Clearinghouses, Weatherization Programs, Homebuyer Assistance Program, Mortgage/Rent Payment Assistance, Gas/Electric/Heating Fuel Payment Assistance, Scholarships, Dental Care Assistance, Prescription Assistance, Comprehensive Information and Referral, and Shelter Information Services.

LIHEAP: Beginning September 1, elderly, age 60 years and older and/or disabled household member, who may also be disconnected or under imminent threat to be disconnected from their electric service may apply for assistance. - Beginning October 1, households with children under the age of six years and households who are disconnected or have a disconnected notice from their electric service may apply for assistance. - General public can apply for assistance starting December 1 through May 31, or until funds are depleted whichever comes first. - Utility Assistance PIPP: Provides up to $150 a month to pay for electric bills.
