Kansas public utilities commission accepts complaints about utility bills not resolved by the utility provider.
Hours
M-F 8am-5pm, excluding state holidays
Required Documents
Name of the customer of record; mailing address or service address; home and/or daytime phone numbers (e-mail, optional); Name of the utility; Account number; The facts about what the utility did or did not do. Include dates, times, location and persons involved; and the resolution you expect. Formal complaints require the above information to be in writing. Note: By providing the foregoing information and requesting the KCC's investigation of your complaint, you thereby consent to the utility's release of information regarding your account that is requested by the KCC.

If you have a complaint about your utility bill or services and speaking with your utility company does not resolve the problem, you may file a complaint with the Kansas Corporation Commission using their two-step procedure. Call or walk in during open hours or send an email to begin the informal complaint procedure. If the informal complaint procedure does not produce a satisfactory resolution, or if you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you have the right to file a formal complaint, which must be submitted in writing. The formal complaint may be filed in person at the KCC or by mail. They do not accept formal complaints by e-mail or through the website. Call or walk in during open hours.
