Description:
Legal Aid of Western Missouri provides free legal representation and counsel to disadvantaged seniors and low-income residents in civil (non-criminal) matters. Priority is given to cases involving housing, employment, domestic abuse, immigration, consumer problems and public benefits.
Legal Aid is currently only handling housing cases referred from the Right to Counsel (RTC) program or cases that involve the termination of a voucher or Section 8 eviction. If the client is faced with a court eviction within the city limits of Kansas City, please have them complete a RTC application through 211. If the client is experiencing a voucher termination or an eviction of their Section 8 housing, they can contact Legal Aid to do an application for assistance.
