Project Lead Safe KC Project Lead Safe Kansas City is a grant funded program to assist the residents of Kansas City, Mo., with home and rental property lead-based paint stabilization. The program sends a licensed lead inspector to your home to determine what the lead hazards are and to make work recommendations.

Description
Through the CLPPHHP, families with lead poisoned children can receive cleaning kits. In addition, families with lead poisoned children as well as children with persistent asthma or other serious chronic conditions may be eligible for vacuums. CLPPHHP also provides plastic, painting supplies and contractor grade HEPA vacuum rental for families performing renovation.

Description
The CLPPP/HHP manages Project Lead Safe Kansas City. The program sends a licensed lead inspector to a home to determine what the lead hazards are and to make work recommendations. Licensed lead abatement contractors will perform the repairs. Types of work may include specialized cleaning, wet scraping and repainting, replacement, encapsulation or enclosure and window replacement.

Proof of home ownership, proof of income, proof of child occupancy (birth certificates for all children living or visiting the home); For rental properties, the owner must agree to give priority to families with young children after the work is complete.
Eligibility
Own (or be making payments) or rent and occupy a home in Kansas City, MO, or Independence, MO, that was built before 1978; household income is less than 80% of the area's median income (families who qualify for WIC usually also qualify for the Lead Safe KC Program); have a child under 6 years of age who lives or visits the home more than 6 hours every week.

Description
