Description
Helps residents in long-term care facilities maintain or improve their quality of life by helping ensure their rights are not violated. We act as advocates or intermediary when taking residences' concerns to facility managers for resolution. Ombudsmen can also assist families with concerns, interpret regulations, provide guidance, and assist with in-service trainings for staff. Can also meet with residents on site at nursing homes.

Description
The Central Missouri Area Agency on Aging's mission is to develop a coordinated delivery system of services to assist and enable older Missourians to remain in their own homes as long as possible and to enhance the quality of life for all older Missourians. Programs offered include: Nutrition program, long term ombudsman program, in home services, paperwork assistance, legal services, assistance with hearing aids, books on tape for the handicapped, health promotion, information and assistance, tax information, transportation assistance, financial counseling, adult day care, respite care, family caregiver support program Medicare Prescription Drug Program, and the Missouri Senior Rx Program.
