Offers assistance with paying utility bills, which may include: metered services such as electric and gas bills, and non-metered services such as oil, wood, coal and propane. May also pay reconnect fees. Currently funding available as of October 1, 2011 for elderly and disabled only. November 1, funding will open for others. If clients have received assistance in the past they will receive an application in the mail after the appropriate date. If they did not receive assistance last year they need to call for an application after the appropriate date.

Description
Early childhood Literacy Project teaches parents how to read to their children and teaches young children basic literacy skills. Parents attend workshops where they are taught the skills to help their children, while the children are in another room and are being assisted with basic reading skills.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) help low-to-moderate income people achieve economic stability through a savings plan that rewards discipline. A qualified individual can put away up to $2,000 in a savings account that will be matched 2-to-1 by other funds. In other words, for every $1 a participant puts intoan account, another $2 would be added. The money can be used for one of three savings goals: buying a home, starting a business or achieving post-secondary education .

Weatherization and minor home repairs to assist low-income people, especially the elderly, individuals with disabilities and/or those with small children to conserve energy through the installation of weatherization materials. Weatherization uses an energy audit procedure to establish cost effective weatherization measures. The audit also calculates the reduction in energy usage.
