Eligibility

A low-income parent or guardian of a child under the age of 13 years (or age 13 years or older with a special need) and are working, attending school, in job training, disabled, homeless, searching for a job, being evaluated for training and/or employment, receiving child welfare services from the Children's Division - Note: Eligible children may be placed on a waiting list due to lack of adequate funding (Eligibility does not guarantee immediate benefits)

    Description

    Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT): helps cover food costs for children who qualify for free or reduced lunch at school but are not in school due to the pandemic.

    - Must apply by June 30, 2020 - If you have a child or children in grades PreKindergarten through Grade 12 who would have received free or reduced-price meals at school if schools were still open - If you receive Food Stamps benefits, P-EBT benefits will be automatically loaded to your EBT card. You will not need to call or apply to get P-EBT. - If you did not receive Food Stamp (SNAP) benefits in March, you will need to apply for P-EBT. If you aren’t sure if you received SNAP benefits in March, you can check the status of your benefits to find out at apps.dss.mo.gov. - Income Guidelines Apply

The SkillUP Program: Offers Food Stamp recipients in Missouri the opportunity to gain skills, training and work experience.

        Description

        Receives applications for TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) program provides temporary financial assistance to help pay for food, shelter and utilities. Also, may include GED preparation, vocational training, post secondary education, vocational rehabilitation, classes in basic English, help with childcare and work stipends.

        Eligibility

        Applicant must be low-income, a Missouri resident and the parent or legal caretaker of a child who is either under age 18 years or the child is attending high school or equivalent and is expected to graduate before age 19 years - Upon approval of TANF, the recipient must participate in employment and training services through the Missouri Work Assistance (MWA) program which helps TANF recipients transition from TANF to a job by helping set goals and get the skills needed to find a job and support the recipient’s family - Contact office on additional eligibility requirements
