Description
Enforces the City of Joplin's animal control ordinances. Provides rabies control through animal bite investigation and quarantine. Provides stray and loose animal impoundment, wild animal trapping services for property damage control. Investigates nuisance animal complaints, provides animal abuse and neglect investigation.

Age-appropriate vaccinations for children ages 2 months and over. Vaccinations for adults are given as needed for seasonal and communicable disease situations, foreign travel, or to fulfilll vaccination requirements (i.e., immigration)..
Fees
Call for fees for childhood immunizations. Yellow fever vaccinations are charged at current rate per dose (may be approximately $66 and payable by cash or check). Flu shots can be billed to Medicare, Medicaid, or are available for a fee.

Provides supplemental food to women who are pregnant, post-partum up to 6 months and breast-feeding, infants and children up to 5 years. Provides nutrition education and referral to other community programs. Also provides peer breastfeeding counseling during pregnancy and post-partum up to one year. Breast pumps are issued and consultation is provided.
