Sunflower House is a non-residential Children's Advocacy Center dedicated to the prevention of child abuse. Services include child-sensitive investigative interviews, and family advocacy. Extensive community education programs are provided to children, parents and professionals teaching them to recognize and report child abuse. Prevention education training programs include Mandated Reporter Training, Abusive Head Trauma, Keeping Kids Safe Online, Stewards of Children and Lunch and Learns on a variety of topics.

Description
Extensive community education programs are provided to children, parents, professionals and concerned community members, teaching them body autonomy, personal safety and to recognize and report child abuse. Child programs include: Happy Bear, Think First & Stay Safe, and E-Safety (Middle and High School). Adult programs include: Mandated Reporter Training, Keeping Kids Safe Online, Cómo Reconocer y Reportar el Abuso de Menores and Stewards of Children. All programs available in Spanish/English.

Description
Following referral from law enforcement or child protective services, children visit Sunflower House for a child-sensitive forensic interview. Family advocates at Sunflower House is available to meet with each child's non-offending caregiver(s) to equip the family with the tools and knowledge needed to support, understand, and protect the child. The Family Advocate will help caregivers learn how to access specialized resources to help resolve issues related to the abuse their child has experienced. The Family Advocate also provides referral information to other professionals and members of the community, as well as offering support throughout the legal process. Trauma-focused therapy services are provided for victims of child abuse and their families free of charge as well.
