Description

This organization picks up mattresses metro-wide, saving them from landfills, treats them for lice, dust mites and/or bed bugs and cleans them and then donates them to children in need.

Eligibility

Mattress must not have been touching trash or grass for more than two hours. Left on concrete OK, if mattress is free of stains, odors or tears. Gently used twin, twin XL, full, full XL and queen size mattresses and box springs.

Fees

$40 flat fee for pick-up (tax deductible)

Description

This organization provides cleaned and treated used mattresses to families with children in need. They require referrals to be given by social workers/advocates/pastors/school counselors or any professional working with the families.

Hours

Mattress distribution appointments will vary between weekdays and Saturdays. Mattress distribution appointments are available to advocates and clients on first-come, first-reserved basis as inventory allows.

Eligibility

Children in the household; housed or have a move in date; must be able to transport the mattress; clients must be referred by a professional that has access to email as distribution dates are shared via email; may apply once per year. There is usually about a 3-4 month waiting period.

Intake Procedure

Have a case manager/advocate/counselor/pastor apply online on your behalf. The email given on the application will be emailed the week of the distribution day. At that time, you or the case manager/advocate who referred you may select an available pick-up time for the appointed day.
