Library service is funded through a voted property tax of citizens living within the Joplin Public Library district. The district includes all of the city that is within Jasper County. Only part of the city within Newton County is within its funding district.

Two meeting rooms can be booked by outside groups. CAPACITY One room seats 10 and has a permanent table with 10 chairs The large room seats 80 theater-style (fewer if using tables)
