Description:
County health department responsible for preventing epidemics and the spread of disease, promoting prevention through child and adult immunizations, prompting good health for chronic disease with nutrition counseling, protecting against environmental hazards and injuries, promoting and encouraging healthy behaviors and responding to disasters and assisting communities in recovery. Services include lead testing, restaurant/food sanitation, food safety education, child passenger safety seats, blood pressure screening, HIV testing, tuberculosis screening, CPR Instruction, general first aid instruction, general health education, nutrition education, pregnancy testing, breastfeeding support groups, community clinics, immunizations, childhood immunizations and Vaccines for Children, flu vaccines, HPV immunizations, WIC, Health related support groups and maternal child health initiatives.
