                                      Counseling is available without requiring a diagnosis or residency Must meet criteria for substance abuse or chemical dependency Must be a Missouri resident to qualify for Missouri state funded services, an assessment determines if this diagnosis applies, if not, services may be provided if other criteria, such as a recent episode of drug abuse (within the last month) has happened

                                      Consumers may self pay or use health insurance Missouri residents qualify for state assistance or full payment Services are often subsidized by federal contracts, public and private grants and donations
