Description
Courses are taught by NAMI family members, trained mentors or peer teachers, topics includes listening and communication techniques, problem solving techniques, coping mechanisms, community resources, medication use in the treatment of mental illness in children and adults, relapse prevention information, recovery, rehabilitation and the self care skills needed to deal with a loved one's mental illness as well as its impact on the family.

Due to COVID-19, Support Group Meetings are virtual - Family Support Group: A peer-led support group sharing knowledge and experience on living with individuals with a mental health illness. - Connection Recovery Support Group: A peer-led, confidential support group including 12 principles of support while connecting other individuals in recovery who are learning to cope with issues related to mental illness. - Parent Support Group: Offers a non-judgmental, confidential environment for sharing emotions and thoughts with other parents and caregivers who have similar experiences of a child with a mental health illness.
