VITA - K-State Extension

Description

Free drop-off and mail-in federal and state tax preparation and electronic filing for individuals by trained tax preparers. Tax preparers can also assist with applying for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program if eligible.

Hours

Mail-in or Drop-off tax documents Wednesdays & Thursdays 10am-4pm, Saturdays 8:30am-12:30pm from February 8 through April 15.

Required Documents

3 online consent forms filled AND Photocopies of Proof of identification (photo ID); Social Security cards or ITINS for you, your spouse and everyone else on the tax return; Wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R,1099-Misc) from all employers; Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099); IRS Letter 6475 Your Third Economic Impact Payment; IRS Letter 6419 if you received the Advance Child Credit ; A copy of last year’s federal and state returns, if available; Proof of bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit such as a voided check; Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider's tax identifying number such as their Social Security number or business; Employer Identification Number; Health Insurance Exemption Certificate, if received; Forms 1095-A, B and C, Health Coverage Statements; Copies of income transcripts from IRS and state, if applicable

Eligibility

Income less than $60,000 in 2022 OR Special Population (Limited English Proficiency, People with disabilities, 60+), all adults on return must be present to sign, no Schedules E, or F (rental/royalty income, farm income) and no business, estate, trust or foreign returns

Intake Procedure

Visit location to drop-off tax documents. Mail-in tax documents February 8 through April 15. Be prepared to pick up any dropped off or mailed-in paperwork upon notification that your taxes are completed.
